Works at Chauvet Arts- LP Canvas: Vinyl Art

Excited beyond words to be part of the LP Canvas: Vinyl Art in Music City at Chauvet Arts!  As a longtime resident of Nashville, the city where music lives and breathes, I couldn't be more thrilled to showcase my passion for both art and music in one exhibition.

Celebrating the fusion of art and music, artists pay homage to the iconic vinyl record through their unique interpretations of album covers. Nashville's diverse music scene has inspired us all, and I'm honored to be a part of this creative journey.

A little bit about these works:

Painting of Flowers Lp Canvas Art Album Art Pond Water

"Slower Than Pond Water Vol. 1" captures the essence of rural landscapes through a contemporary lens, offering a visual symphony that parallels the region's musical heritage. The artwork blends intricate textures and a palette of vibrant colors, reminiscent of the watering holes scattered among the summer countryside.  Inspired by the rhythmic cadence of old sayings, the title enriches the visual dialogue, inviting viewers to explore the intersection of art and music. By celebrating vinyl records as both visual and auditory experiences, "Slower Than Pond Water Vol. 1" bridges the gap between these art forms, echoing the oral traditions that resonate across generations.

"Creek Don't Rise - The Anthology" pays homage to the resilience and beauty of provincial landscapes, weaving together layers of texture and color to evoke deep emotional responses. The artwork serves as a visual narrative that honors rural cultural traditions, resonating with the enduring allure of vinyl records.  Through its title steeped in old wisdom of unforeseeable events, the painting invites viewers to explore the landscapes and stories that define the region. By integrating elements of regional sayings into its visual and thematic framework, "Creek Don't Rise - The Anthology" enriches the exploration of art and music, with a deep reverence for the unpredictable currents of life.

"Haints Holler EP" stands in its deep roots of rural culture and music. Inspired by the haunting beauty of landscapes with deep hollows and valleys rich in fables, this artwork blends loose abstract skies with a vibrant brushed vista that mirrors a region's diverse layers.  The painting draws viewers into a world where the visual and auditory merge seamlessly, much like the experience of listening to a cherished vinyl record.  Through imagery and a title steeped in Southern vernacular, "Haints Holler - LP" beckons the audience to delve into quiet hills, with deep-rooted storytelling and whispers of forgotten tales, inviting contemplation of the mysterious allure that permeates folklore.

Exhibit runs through September with some art work rotating. The show will be up for the August First Saturday Art Crawl.
